Front yard photos
Last Thursday after nap Stella and I went to get the mail, we always sit out front and look at it. Since Charlie was home we were just hanging out out front. I decided to grab the camera....(you should be able to click on the photo to view it larger)

All In A Weekend
Charlie took his annual leave to watch basketball this past Thursday and Friday. Of course Stella and I loved having him around for the extra days.
Thursday we started by getting rid of our "garage sale" pile, which also meant we got to claim our screened in porch. Charlie took a truck and trailer load to the local thrift store that benefits the local children's hospital. And to think we moved all that stuff......YIKES! With all the nice weather, the space is great to have!
Friday Emily and lil Paul came for a visit before they went on to meet up with family in Virginia Beach on Saturday. The kids had a great time playing and Emily and I enjoyed the time too. First, we went to Fort Fun, a local park on the James River. That afternoon both of the kids slept for over 3 hours, we had to wake them up for dinner. While they were napping, Emily and I got to sit on the porch and catch up! It was wonderful! It was like a dream...sleeping babies and great company to enjoy the time!
Friday night I made fish tacos using Atlantic Cod-at the commissary worker's recommendation. I was hesitant when she said to use the cod....when I think of cod, I think fish and chips. Much to our surprise it was great-using an adapted recipe from my friend Cameron Lawracy.
Saturday, Charlie made the traditional corn beef and cabbage and Stella and I made the soda bread.
On Sunday morning we took Stella to the Bluebird Gap Farm in Hampton. I had taken Stella once before when Charlie was gone. It is basically a small working farm with all the animals. This time she was more interested in playing on the playground then seeing the animals. However, there were two things I loved to see. First, they had two baby goats that were just a week old. And the bunnies were so active-hopping and chasing each other around.
Paul and Emily arrived around lunch and stayed for a couple hours to play before hitting the road back home.
Friday Paul and Stella swinging.
(note Stella's blue beads-she puts them on herself.)
Paul was trying to cuddle with Stella before nap time.
Saturday morning we got back from the Noland Trail with the dogs and Stella was telling Charlie "need pop"(pacifier). Right after he gave it to her, this is what I find on the couch watching BB. It reminded me of when she was weeks old and Charlie would watch football with her-she has not fallen asleep like this since those early days of life.
After the nap was over, she was ready to help in the kitchen! Making our Irish Soda Bread.

Looking at the animals and swinging with Dad.

(note the beads...again)
Paul is in the process of winding up to nail me with a handful of dirt. Little boys.....
Now the dirt in the air like confetti.
