1 Month!

We have had a busy couple weeks! Stella was 1 month old on Saturday. It is amazing to think we already don't know what we would do without her! She has changed so much in just a short time, as you can tell by the pics.
Charlie left this morning for his pre-deployment training in New Jersey, he will be gone for a month. Stella and I are flying up to see him at the halfway point. In the meantime, my mom comes today for a week and my dad comes for a week in October, so we will be in good company and well taken care of!
Here is a rundown of the pics:
My dad got her a Jayhawk measuring chart. So the first pics are of her standing in front of it! Of course her dad had her in her KU attire for the football game vs Georgia Tech.
Next, are pics of her watching Avery. She loves to watch the dogs!
Some tummy time on the boppy.
This past weekend we made our first road trip to Mississippi to go to the KU game. She did great in the car, at the tailgate and game. She was quite the trooper! She has a travel Gundy bear that has a passport-so we can keep track of all of her trips. The first state marked was Mississippi! We are going to try to take a pic of her with the bear everywhere we go. This pic is at the hotel before we left for the game.
She had her first photo with the KU dance team members at the Alumni tailgate. She actually slept most of the time, as you can see she was sacked out in her stroller. She was definitely a hit at the tailgate-everyone wanted to see the littlest and next Jayhawk! While we were walking to the game, one of the Mississippi fans commented on how the Jayhawks "leave the nest early for their sports teams". We both thought it was a pretty cute comment!
During the game she hung out in her Baby Bjorn most of the time, and enjoyed it!
Last, this was Stella's position on the couch watching football with her dad-too cute not to capture!

A Growing Gal!

Stella had her 2 week check up last Wednesday, she is up to 6lbs 13 oz and 19.5". It is amazing how much she has changed, it seems like she is already much more of a little lady then a newborn. She continues to eat and sleep well but has definitely increased her amount of awake time. We got the okay for her to do some tummy time since her umbilical cord fell off. She likes to stick her little bum up in the air and push with her legs around the blanket. She has also started to notice the dogs, especially Avery. She loves to just look at them!

Here are a few different snapshots of some of her expressions...but I was not able to get one of her smiling!

This is her in her little peanut shell sling, she is still on the small side for it!

Moxy demonstrating some tummy time to her.
Watching the first KU game with Dad.

First real bath since her umbilical cord fell off. She does good in the bath but is not happy when we take her out of the water (I think she gets cold).

Nap time with Dad.

Stella Mae Dorssom Arrived!

Stella made her grand appearance on August 18th at 3:47am. She weighed 6 lbs 3 oz and was 18.5 inches. The delivery was very fast and I feel good besides the normal sleep deprivation. We have been home for a little over a week now and enjoying every minute of it. My mom and sister were here for several days then Charlie's parents and brother were here for a couple more. We are looking forward to having some time with just the three of us! Here are some photos of the little one...

36 weeks 6 days, Nursery Complete & Awards!

We completed the nursery on Sunday by hanging the quilt. Charlie made the quilt hanger so it matches the crib and dresser. Here are a few pics of what it looks like these days. The last little thing I need to do is put pictures in all the empty picture frames.

People have many ways of tracking their child's growth, on a piece of wood, door frame etc. It is only fitting that Baby Jay helps us keep track our little ones growth. My dad sent this to us and I had it laminated and hung it inside the closet door so we could see how big the little bambina/o was getting. It will be great to roll up and take with us wherever we move!

36 weeks 6 days...

Another blurb about Charlie...he recently received three more awards. The one pictured (made from Alabama clay) is the Flight Commander of the quarter for Squadron Officer College. He also received awards for Flight Commander of the quarter for Air and Space Basic Course (ASBC) and Flight Commander of the quarter for the 29th Student Squadron.
